The “Over/Under” on Supply Chain Disruptions

It doesn’t take much disruption to throw things into chaos when you’re operating “just in time”. And, let’s face it, there is an abundance of chaos right now. Great minds all over are grasping (here’s one current academic article).

It might seem tempting to want to sue to enforce a contract (or to cancel a contract). And that’s always an option, of course. But the courts are slow, and are even slower now that almost all courts are closed except for emergency matters. More importantly, however? By suing?

You are letting someone else make your business decisions for you.

You are distracting yourself when you are most in need of focusing.

Best to work with your vendors and customers and figure things out as best you can.

You are in control of what gets decided.

You are focusing on the matters directly at hand.

And, in the meantime, just remember: it’s always over and not under.
